A Single Girl’s Guide to Celebrating Valentine’s Day

Who says that Valentine’s Day is just for couples?  Just because you’re single doesn’t mean that you are prohibited from enjoying this special day.  Whether you’re in a relationship or not, you have the right to spread the love on February 14th.  Here are some fun ideas to celebrate Valentine’s with your friends, your family or even just by yourself.

Pamper yourself

Going out alone on Valentine’s Day seems like a bad idea but there’s no point of feeling down and bitter when you see lovebirds parading around town.  Book yourself a spa day where you can get a relaxing massage, a facial and a mani and pedi.  Shop for a new outfit or buy that purse that you’ve been eyeing on for a while now.  You don’t need a man to buy the things you like and to feel good about yourself! (But of course, just make sure that you have something to eat till the next pay day.)

Organize a Single’s Night Out

Gather your single friends (if you still have one) and hit the club, a karaoke joint or if you’re not into that, you can just all go to a fancy restaurant and celebrate being single together.  It’ll be fun, I promise!

Host a House Party

But if you don’t feel like going “out” but still want to have a fun night with your single friends, just host a party at your place.  You can even pick a theme to make it more exciting.

Travel

Whether you’re traveling solo or with your single friends, this is a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day.  Being in a new destination where no one knows you sounds fun and exciting!  In addition to that, you’ll also be able to meet new people and who knows… one of them might just be your future partner.

Spend the Day with your Family

I think that the best way to celebrate love on Valentine’s Day is to spend it with the most important people in your life – your family.  Visit home or invite your parents or the whole family for a get together and spend quality time with them.

Go on a Date

Have your friends set you up on a blind date or a double date on Valentine’s Night.  You’ll never know how things will end up but I’m sure that it’ll make this year’s Valentine’s Day a memorable one.
