The Best Honeymoon Destinations in Asia

travel-1038095_960_720Nothing screams romance and relaxation than a secluded hideaway where you can enjoy a private beach, fine dining, beautiful sunset and awe-inspiring natural views.  Although each couple is different, I truly think that the best honeymoon destination is a quiet paradise that you and your partner can really relax in and enjoy each other’s company.  With that said, Asia, in my opinion, have the best hidden, luxurious but still affordable places in the world if you want to escape and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Koh Kood, Thailand

Millions of tourists flock to Thailand each year which makes it not an ideal destination for a quiet and relaxing honeymoon, in my opinion.  But don’t worry, you can still find quiet beaches that haven’t been spoiled by travelers yet.

Koh Kood, is one of the untouched islands of Thailand, with crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches.  A resort called Soneva Kiri is the perfect honeymoon destination and is only an hour flight away from Bangkok.  So you can still enjoy the city life before or after your stay in the resort.

In Soneva Kiri resort, you can book your own villa with your own private pool, whether it’s on the beach side, cliff or near the ocean.  For a unique dining experience, you and your other half can enjoy a meal high up into the rainforest (Treepod Dining) as your food are being delivered by a personal waiter via zip-line.  If you are not afraid of heights, then you should not let this experience pass.  Another cool and romantic feature that the resort offers is the Cinema Paradiso, an open-air “theatre” where you can enjoy classics under the stars.

Koh Rong, Cambodia

In the untouched archipelago of Koh Rong in Cambodia, lies a secluded island called Song Saa.  If you want a truly private tropical island experience, then this one is for you.  Song Saa Private Island is Cambodia’s first ever luxury private island resort.  You can choose aong 27 intimate villas, over-water, ocean-view or jungle villa – all villas have their own private pools and offer high-end comforts.  They even offer a “destination dining” where guests can choose one of their secluded hideaway spots for a private dining experience.

Bali, Indonesia

Because of its mystery and romance, Bali has always been one of the most travelled destination for couples.  For the ultimate Balinese honeymoon, the Four Season Hotel at Jimbarayan Bay can help you tailor the perfect romantic honeymoon experience.  The hotel features an exotic spa treatment for two, romantic candlelight dinner, private couple’s session with a local spiritual healer, a picnic at the Ayung River, Karma cleansing ceremony for two and even a bike tour through the rice fields.

Pamalican Island, Philippines

This small island in Palawan is home to an exclusive island-resort called Amanpulo.  It truly is a whisper-quiet private island retreat to spend your honeymoon in.  To reach the resort, guests arrive by private plane and get to stay in hillside, tree top or beach side villas.  The powdery white sand that encircles the whole island is breathtaking too.  Plus, you and your partner can enjoy a number of aquatic activities such as sailing, scuba diving and windsurfing.

Yes, Maldives is located in the Southern part of Asia, specifically in the Indian Ocean.  Everything in Maldives is romantic and pure bliss – perfect for couples on their romantic getaway.  No resort in Maldives ban children but most families with young kids rarely book their stay in overwater villas.  So if you want a place with less children frolicking around, you can choose among the following resorts with water villas and adult-only sections such as Cocoa Island Resort, Meeru Island Resort and Kuredo Island Resort & Spa.
