Quick Romantic Getaways for Valentine’s Day 2017

We’re still a month away from Valentine’s Day, but that’s a perfect amount of time to plan for a quick romantic getaway.  For some, this time of the year may be an overrated holiday but for some, it’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate love.  Not that it’s the only time to do that.  Obviously, you have to show and celebrate love as if it’s Valentine’s Day every day.  Cheesy, I know.

Anyway, I’ve rounded up a short list of America’s most romantic cities for a quick and affordable weekend getaway for this year’s Happy Heart’s Day.

San Francisco, CA

There’s so much more than a romantic stroll through the Golden Gate Park.  This year, there’s a series of events lined up for Valentine’s Week.  Have a nostalgic, luxurious and romantic experience on board the Wine Train, as you wine and dine while watching the beauty of Napa Valley passing by from your seat.

If museums and exhibits are your thing, the Exploratorium is having a Valentine’s date tour that features the museum’s romantic exhibits, film screening and… special dissection programs.  After doing all the touristy activities, you can complete your romantic getaway by joining the Eternity Ball black-tie gala on Valentine’s Day that will benefit the Greater Bay Area Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Houston, TX

There are tons of fun, quirky and romantic events coming up this Valentine’s in Houston.  If you are single, you can still have a romantic getaway by joining the Speed Dating event in Sam Houston Hotel.  For couples who want to have fun, add a twist to the usual romantic dinner and attend the Romantic Mystery Dinner Theater where you can wine, dine and solve a crime.

For a creative and enriching experience, the city offers a bunch of workshops for couples – from craft-making to Lap Dancing and playful workshops; you’ll surely find an unforgettable activity that you and your significant will truly enjoy.

Charleston, SC

Charleston boasts a charming and beautiful architecture with oak-lined streets, as if you’ve stumbled upon a movie set. But if you want to escape the city, book a three-hour trip or stay overnight aboard Charleston’s luxurious yachts and have a romantic sail on the Charleston Harbor.

You know how restaurants get crowded during Valentine’s Day, making it less romantic.  For a guaranteed romance-filled and intimate evening, you can have a private chef design a Five Course dinner, set and prepared at your own home or wherever your location is – complete with a romantic table set-up, bottle of wine, service and even the clean up afterwards.

Toronto, Canada

Although it’s a little far away from home, Toronto is a good place to go to if you want to leave the US but don’t want to travel that far.  The largest city in Canada is a cosmopolitan metropolis with a variety of romantic and interesting activities for couples and sophisticated hotels for you to stay.  For Valentine’s this year, enjoy a 4-course dinner with an interactive Murder Mystery.  You can also join the Toronto Zoo for a delicious evening of food and fun while learning the fine art of romance in the animal kingdom.  Both are fun and unique romantic dinner ideas.

Honolulu, Hawaii

If you want a tropical, beachy vibe for this year’s Valentine’s, Honolulu is the place to be.  The sun, the beach and the love of your life – what more can you ask for?  If you want to make it extra special, enjoy a Valentine’s Sunset Dinner while cruising in the island seas or have a special lunch or breakfast while whale watching with your other half.
