Cool Summer Toys for Non-Stop Fun & Learning

School’s out and that means it’s time to stock up on toys and games to keep your kids entertained this summer!  When shopping for toys, look for ones that provide an opportunity for your child to learn, spark their imaginations, get them moving and encourage them to interact with others.

So in today’s blog post, I’ve rounded up some of the season’s hottest toys and games from Amazon’s Summer Toy List that will fill their summer days with non-stop fun and learning.

Water Toy:  Shark Attack Water Slide

Keep your kids cool on a hot, summer day with this single slider!  Don’t worry because it comes with a speed ramp that will provide a soft landing and a built-in water chamber for stability.  Ideal for kids ages 3 and up.

Backyard Play:  Step2 Cascading Cove Sand and Water Table

To encourage your kids to go outside instead of staying indoors with their iPads all-day, bring the beach to your own backyard with this sand and water table.

Imagination Station:  Melissa & Doug Wooden Snacks and Sweets Food Cart

Imaginative play is essential for your child’s cognitive development so get them this Pretend Food Cart Stand that features a rolling, reversible ice cream and hot dog cart and over 40 exciting play food pieces.  It’s a perfect “summer-themed” way to ignite their imagination and sense of wonder.

STEM:  National Geographic Dual Microscope Science Lab

Aside from imaginative play, it’s also very important to keep those young minds engaged and learning this summer through STEM toys.  This STEM kit from National Geographic includes a child-friendly microscope and over 50 accessories for sample collection and guided experiments.  It surely is a fun way to inspire a love of science in your child.

Active Picks:  Wham-O Xtreme Frisbee Disc

Last but definitely not the least, is a toy to keep your little ones active this summer.  You see, it’s recommended for a child between the age of 5 and 17 to have at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day for health purposes.

Frisbee is a fabulous game and sport for kids – aside from teaching physical literacy skills, it also helps kids to learn about team work, cooperation and healthy competition.
