Fun & Creative Theme Ideas for Your Summer Party

The summer season is the perfect time for throwing outdoor parties.

Whether it’s your kid’s birthday, a baby shower, engagement party or just a weekend gathering with friends and family, make it even more fun and memorable by adding a theme.

For inspiration, here are some unique and creative themes for your outdoor summer bash:

Ice Cream Party

Beat the heat with Ice Cream and make a theme out of it by dedicating a whole party just for this favorite frozen treat!  Set up a cute ice cream bar with a variety of flavors and toppings such as chocolate chips, marshmallows, sprinkles, etc.  And oh, instead of cupcakes, have your guests make their own ice cream sandwiches too!

Lemonade Stand Party

Kids and kids at heart will love this bright-colored lemonade themed party.  Pink and yellow color palette and citrus-flavored everything are absolutely perfect for a hot summer afternoon party.

Outdoor Fiesta

Cactus, sombreros and pinatas! Tacos, salsa and margaritas!  A fiesta-themed outdoor party is definitely a fun and easy one to plan.

Beach Party

You don’t have to travel far to have a beach-themed party.  Bring the beach to your own backyard with “sea, sun and sand”-inspired decorations, inflatable pools, tropical music and beach-themed menu.  And of course, don’t forget to have your guests wear their favorite beach attire.

Bonfire Party

A bonfire party in your own background is not just a whole lot of fun but is very easy, doable and inexpensive too.  Of course, a bonfire would be the centerpiece and just let the natural surroundings of your yard be your decoration.  But you might want to add a string of outdoor lights, some candles and lanterns to set the mood and give a little light.  As for the food, a bonfire won’t be a bonfire without s’mores and hotdogs.

Backyard Movie Party

Here’s another laid-back and easy party idea.  All you need are blankets, throw pillows, a projector, your favorite movies and of course, your favorite snacks and treats (lots and lots of popcorns) and take advantage of the warm summer night to enjoy an outdoor movie under the stars.
