Fall Vacation Ideas to Start Planning for Now

As summer winds down and the weather gets cooler, now is the perfect time to start planning for your upcoming fall travels (if you are lucky enough to have leftover vacation days).

It’s fun to be outdoors when the air is crisp and you get an amazing view of the beautiful fall colors around you.

Fall season also offers a bunch of fun activities like pumpkin and apple picking, corn mazes, hayrides and let’s not forget the Halloween-themed parties too.

Budget-Friendly:  Upper Peninsula, Michigan

Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is a favorite among Fall-color seekers who are on a budget.  Enjoy seven million acres of trees, 300 roaring waterfalls, 40 historic lighthouses and so much more.  Fall foliage begins showing in mid-September and peaks early October.  It’s definitely a top Fall destination that you should never miss out on.

Spooky Adventure:  Savannah, Georgia

For a Halloween-themed travel, I think you’ll love the quirky Southern City of Savannah.  You’ll actually feel like you are in a spooky movie, thanks to the creepy graveyards, haunted hotels and pub crawls.  Aside from the spooky sights, you’ll also enjoy feasting on Savannah’s mix of culinary festivals like the Savannah Bacon Festival that happens during the first week of September.

Romantic:  New York City

Nothing’s more glorious and romantic than spending a fall vacation in New York.  During autumn time, you’ll get to see the true beauty of Central Park.  Walk or bike through the park, enjoying the fall foliage at its peak and feel as if you’re in a romantic Hollywood movie.  End the day catching the autumn sunset and of course, indulge yourself with seasonal food favorites from different food trucks in the city.

Relaxing:  Napa Valley, California

Relax in the beautiful Napa Valley while enjoying the sight of yellow and red foliage, the aroma of fermented grapes, and a wine glass in hand.  Napa Valley is the true representation of countryside scenery and legendary acclaimed wines.  Aside from its Autumn beauty and fine wine, you’ll also get to experience fall inspired spa treatments – think pumpkin spice facials!

International:  Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Fall is the best time to enjoy the cozy feel and the charming look of this city in Netherlands.  If you’re lucky enough to travel outside the country, take advantage of the low rates and fewer tickets, and book yourself a ticket to Amsterdam.
